DES MOINES, IA - The League of United Latin American Citizens of Iowa will host two final caucus trainings and canvass neighborhoods this weekend in its final push for the Latino Vote Iowa campaign.

On Saturday and Sunday, LULAC of Iowa volunteers in various communities across the state will go door-to-door to talk with Latinos about the caucuses and engage them to attend.

Also on Saturday, at noon LULAC of Iowa will team with Unity in Action to host a training at Mary Treglia Community House, 900 Jennings St. in Sioux City. Representatives from the Jeb Bush, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton and Gov. Martin O’Malley campaigns will attend and be available to answer questions.

LULAC will host a caucus training/get-out-and-caucus event at 1 p.m. Sunday at El Malecon Event Center, 6550 Bloomfield Road in Des Moines.

The Latino Vote Iowa caucus watch party will begin at 9 p.m. Monday at El Malecon Event Center. Food and drink will be provided.

All trainings are either conducted in English and Spanish or interpreters are available. Attendees will learn how the caucuses work and how to find their caucus location. Caucus site information is available on the LULAC website: www.IowaLULAC.org.

LULAC of Iowa has reached out to more than 43,000 registered Latino voters in the state with the intent to draw at least 10,000 to participate on caucus night. About 200,000 Iowans are expected to participate in both the Democratic and Republican caucuses.

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is the nation's largest and oldest civil rights volunteer-based organization that empowers Hispanic Americans and builds strong Latino communities. Headquartered in Washington, D.C. with 1,000 councils around the United States and Puerto Rico, LULAC's programs, services and advocacy address the most important issues for Latinos, meeting critical needs of today and the future.
